augustus one last thing before she goes,

augustus really wanted Hazel to feel loved so he used his Genie Foundation Wish, a organization that helps cancer patients wishes comes true, to take her to Amsterdam to meet Peter Van Houten. Hazel agreed to go because this was her favorite writer in the world, she wasn’t about to turn this trip down; so Augustus, Hazel, and Hazel’s mother are on the way Amsterdam. Hazel does one last thing before she goes, she goes to the Support Group. She then see her friend Isaac, who is still trying to learn how to operate with being blind. She later goes to Isaac’s house and they play a blind video game. Also, Hazel tells Isaac that she don’t want to hook up with Augustus because she doesn’t want to hurt him because she might die. The next day Hazel and Augustus arrives in Amsterdam, they are amazed at how beautiful it is. They decided to go to one of the most fanciest and most expensive restaurant in Amsterdam. Augustus wears the tux that he was going to wear at his funeral when he thought he was going to die. That next morning, Hazel and Augustus meets Peter Van Houten. They eventually find out that he’s rude and drinks a lot of alcohol morning. After that horrible meeting with Peter, Augustus tells Hazel that he’s sorry about Peter being nonchalant; his assistance offers to take them to the Anne Frank house, where they share a kiss and realize they love each other. After leaving, Augustus breaks the news to Hazel that his cancer has returned and he doesn’t have much time. Hazel is devastated! They returned to Indianapolis, and everything went downhill. Eight days later, Augustus dies and Hazel heart is just broken. At Augustus funeral, Peter Van shows up and that makes question his reason and angry. Peter states that Augustus asked him to make up for the trip by showing up to his funeral, but Hazel just doesn’t care and she asks him to leave. Days after Augustus funeral, Hazel finds out that Augustus was writing a ending for Peter’s bool Imperial Affliction. Peter explains to Hazel that he wrote this novel because it was about his daughter Anna who died of cancer at the age of 8. Hazel tells Peter to get help and sober up so he can write another book. Hazel eventually learns that the ending Augustus wrote to Imperial Affliction he sent it to Peter so he could put that in Hazel’s eulogy when she dies. Peter sent the words that Augustus wrote to her and it stated that this world is inevitable, but we choose who we allow to hurt us. Augustus states he’s happy with it and hope Hazel is too. Hazel says she is too. In my opinion, the author really does achieve his purpose. John Green wrote this book because he worked at a children’s hospital where he saw many children trying to fight for their life. At the children’s hospital the kids were fighting life threatening illnesses and it just inspired him. Another reason John Green wrote this book was because he had a friend that died from cancer. Just like in the book, Hazel had thyroid cancer and so did the author’s friend. John Green purpose was proven when he wrote this book. The Fault in Our Stars was very effortless to read. I caught on very easy, because the author had it setup for young adults’. This book showed a lot of happiness that cancer patients could have and the love each one had for each other. This novel was so POWERFUL because Hazel didn’t let her cancer define her, she didn’t let her cancer stop her from walking up stairs at the Anne Frank house, and she didn’t let her cancer stop her from loving Augustus. I think there were many strengths when it comes to the book. John Green got into debt with the novel. I love how he expressed his feelings through the characters, also I loved how he incorporated teens into the book not just adults. I felt like I could understand it more because I’m a teen myself. The book had one weakness, sadness. I think that this novel was extremely sad, as the novel moved forward and I kept reading it got very mournful. I didn’t want to keep reading but I’m glad I did. I found The Fault in Our Stars quite interesting and very moving. This novel really touched my heart especially because of the fact that this whole book was about cancer. I really don’t like anything about cancer but I didn’t find this book dull at all. It was one of the most heart touching books I read in a while. I would definitely recommend this novel to my classmates and to young adults. I think this books taught me many things, especially this quote “And yet still I worried. I liked being a person. I wanted to keep at it. Worry is yet another side effect of dying”. It lets me know that I need to be happy who I am and not worry about who I’m not because it could cause me to die. The Fault in Our Stars is an incredible book, and I would really like to express it to other teens. This novel helped me realize I have a lot of things to be thankful for and being healthy is one of them. When you read this book think about you and what you would do if this was you, think about oblivion, suffering, and reality. Then ask yourself could you handle it if you had cancer.
