Many crash diets allow someone to lose weight rapidly, but calorie deprivation will cause many health issues such as metabolic damage, abnormal labs, and can lead to binge eating disorders. Juice Fast Crash Diet, The Master Cleanse Diet, Cabbage Soup Diet, and The Grapefruit diet are all examples of popular fad diets.

The Juice Fast Crash Diet consists of only consuming vegetables and fruit juice for up to 60 days. The Master Cleanse is a popular two week fasting diet that Celebrity Beyonce Knowles claims to have lost 20lbs on. The Master Cleanse is simply mixing fresh lemon juice, maple syrup, and cayenne pepper with water 6-12 times a day, or whenever the feeling of hunger arises. The Cabbage Soup Diet basically says the dieter can consume all the cabbage they want, but only cabbage. The Grapefruit Diet involves eating at least one grapefruit a day, conjoined with 800 calorie consumption.

Celebrities have a vast influence on almost all of society. The celebs that go on these crash diets are what make the diets themselves popular. One of the most insane crash diets is the Tapeworm diet. In other words, people intentionally swallow a deadly parasite, that develops into a worm and can grow up to 20-30′ ft. This worm grows by attaching inside of the intestines and eating half of the food that person consumes. In return, the person will lose weight. The tapeworm diet is illegal in America, so there are no statistics on it, but people who do anything to lose weight go through extreme measures to purchase these tapeworms.

Having a tapeworm can be life-threatening.
