Dogs vs Cats

I fond of watching films! Almost every day I watch new film. ???New??? does not mean that the film was made recently. It means the film is new for me. I have chosen two studios, which movies I like very much ??“ The Mosfilm studio with the audience of the whole Soviet Union from one side, and the Hollywood with audience of the whole world from the other side. I will briefly describe these two film companies. “Mosfilm” is one of the largest film companies in the world. It was established in 1920. The emblem of the studio is the sculpture “Worker and farm-lady”. During Soviet times “Mosfilm” filmed more than 2,500 movies. In addition to film production the studio makes translating dubbing of the western movies. The “Hollywood” is the largest film studio in the world located in Los Angeles, California. Besides the field for film production Hollywood has a big living part being some kind of urban area, where famous movie stars has houses and apartments. Im going to compare these two well-known studios to ascertain the audience of both ones.
Both cinema studios are well known in the world and have long history since beginning of the twentieth century. Both studios grew famous actors and gave a birth to distinctive characters such comedy actors as Nikulin and Charley Chaplin, heroic actors as Shvarcneger and Tihonov. Often, Hollywood and Mosfilm produce movies with quite similar genre, such as drama or comedy. What is important, many movies of these two studios have very similar plots. Both studios produce films of high quality and costs.
Hollywood quickly reacts to demand of audience putting bestsellers, news or ideas attracting attention of the masses into production operatively. The examples are such well known movies as Avatar, Harry Potter, Da Vinci Code etc. Hollywood uses new sophisticated technologies for creation of special effects what make the movie more exiting and active. Mostly, Hollywood makes accent on the films reflecting actions like battles, fighting, catastrophes and fantastic. Such actions supplied with special effects immediately involve audience in the story of film. Mosfilm pays more attention to subject of the film and game of actors. The studio generally filmed classic works with real existential episodes which were not fantastic and these scenes have been well-known to audience through famous literary compositions. The brand of the Mosfilm studio, a sculpture of worker and farm-lady expresses the main ideas of the soviet films such as patriotism, commitment with the soviet principles of labor, successful soviet production, and ethics. At the same time many of films produced during the period of Soviet Union raised very important ideas and assumed deep meaning. A good example of such film is???Dog??™s heart??? the main idea of which is that no any new technologies are able to change your nature. After many years Hollywood produced the movie ???Fly??? with the similar idea of transformation of the human to animal. The movie ???Fly??? was equipped with exciting special effects like transformation of human into fly, but the breathtaking game of actors in ???Dog??™s heart??? can be opposed to these effects. Despite ???Fly??? is a very exciting film, in my view, there is no hidden meaning behind it. This is just an interesting story about the failed experiment. “Dogs heart” has a similar plot, but the profound idea is that you can not change the nature of being and it is completely unethical. The difference between the studios is also inherited from the economic systems of the countries. American cinematography was initially established as a commercial industry where genre and plot of the film should meet the interests of the commercial producers while Soviet films persuade the ideas of patriotism and soviet morale. From one side commercial producers can financially support the film and invest big money in the film and from the other side movie-makers fully depend on commercial producer. This causes the fact that producers may cut some scenes of the film and probably there were very important scenes which enriched the movie. Sometimes the Hollywookd produced fantastic films which were betrayed as truth. This happen to movie “Space flight”. The idea of the first journey to the moon was initially screened by Mosfilm. But Mosfilm did not try to betray the film as a truth. The Hollywood caught the idea and produced the ???scientific??? film saying that this is true story about the first steps on the moon. A few years later, it became clear that the footage shown in the film, were not done on the moon. For instance, the American flag, set on the moon, was not supposed to fluctuate because there is no air on the moon. Due to the fact that Hollywood movies are mainly aimed on relaxation, enjoyment or excitement, the audience of those films is quite wide. An audience of the Mosfilm separated to two ones: old generation watching films of the times of former Soviet Union and young people watching films like ???Night patrol???.
In conclusion, someone may not agree with me and this is normal as all of us have their own opinion and habits. As for me, depending on my mood and feelings, I??™m watching movies of different studios, whether it is exciting entertainment of Hollywood or deep morale of Mosfilm. Anyway it is good to have such different studios on the cinema market as each of ones will ever have its own audience.
